LG releases world’s fastest Blu-ray Rewriter in Middle East

LG Electronics’ Middle East company has released the Super Multi Blue Blu-ray Disc Rewriter (BE06) making it the fastest rewriter that reads and writes Blu-ray at 6x. The BEO6 is an external rewriter that is targeted for laptop users or those with multiple PCs and can be connected via USB 2.0 and a DC power connector. The Super Multi Blue-ray Disc Rewriter (whew, that was long) has Optical Pickup Technology that supports Blu-ray disc write/playback, HD-DVD playback, and DVD/CD write playback. LG’s proprietary technology, Optical Pickup, is essentially the device reading and storing data by converting the code of light reflected by an optical disc to electric code. The cost is $549 and a release date for the U.S. is yet to be announced.
