Onkyo readies Blu-ray player for international market this fall

As we had previously reported, Onkyo has now officially announced they will indeed be releasing its first Blu-ray disc player for the international market in later 2008. There are no solid details on the player itself so far but we do know that it is designed to work with Onkyo’s high-definition A/V receivers and will be equipped with full HDMI processing of 1080p video and will decode Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio surround sound formats.

Onkyo has not mentioned if this Blu-ray player will make its way to the US yet and pricing has yet to be announced.

Onkyo DV-BD606 Blu-ray player slated for October release

WhatHiFi is reporting that Onkyo will release the DV-BD606 this upcoming October for £500 ($990). The only thing that’s known at this point is that it will be a Profile 1.1 Blu-ray player and is part of a “three-strong” video player lineup when it surfaces this fall. We’ll be reporting more details as soon as their announced.
