Upcoming Releases Info July 1, 2008

Here’s the today’s latest info on Blu-ray releases:

• Pirates of the Caribbean - 3 Movie Collection - Disney announced plans to release this trilogy bundle on September 16.
• The Omen - Fox has released final specs and announced Blu-ray exclusives for this September 9th release.
• The Sixth Sense - Disney has set a September 30th release date for this 1999 classic.

Pirates of the Caribbean - 3 Movie Collection (Disney)

• Disney plans to bring all three Pirate of the Caribbean movies to Blu-ray in the form of Pirates of the Caribbean: 3 Movie Collection this fall. The set will include Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. At $82.98 the set will save you $20 over buying them separately.
• Extras: Will be the same as those found in the stand-alone Blu-ray versions.
• Release date: September 16, 2008
• MSRP: $82.98

The Omen & Omen: The Collection (Fox)

• Final specs are in for 1976 classic The Omen and Omen: The Collection which features four films in the franchise
• Video: 1080p/AVC MPEG-4
• Audio: DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround, plus subtitles in English, Spanish, Korean, Mandarin and Cantonese.
• Extras (The Omen): Three audio commentaries with filmmakers, six featurettes, deleted scene, still gallery and theatrical trailer. Exclusive to the Blu-ray is the “Richard Donner on The Omen” featurette, the “Omen Revelations” Bonus View picture-in-picture trivia track, Jerry Goldsmith’s isolated score and additional audio commentary with film historians Lem Dobbs, Nick Redman and Jeff Bond.
• Extras (Omen: The Collection): The rest of the films include audio commentary with producers and directors. 2006 The Omen will have two featurettes and extended scenes.

• Disney has announced a September release for M. Night Shyamalan 1999 thriller, The Sixth Sense. No announcements on tech specs or extras have been made yet, but features might include those found on the two-disc DVD version.
