Upcoming Releases Info July 2, 2008

Here’s today’s scoop on upcoming Blu-ray releases:

• The Forbidden Kingdom - Lionsgate has released final specs and box art (above) for this September 9th release.
• Rudy - This football favorite will see a September 9th release from Sony Pictures.
• Jerry Maguire - Sony pictures announced they will be bringing this 1996 blockbuster to Blu-ray on, you guessed it, September 9th.

The Forbidden Kingdom (Lionsgate)

• Lionsgate has revealed the finals specs and box art for Jackie Chan-Jet Li action flick. It ill include a Digital copy and will be released alongside the standard DVD in September.
• Video:1080p/AVC MPEG-4
• Audio: English DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 7.1 Surround
• Extras: Audio commentary with director Rob Minkoff and writer John Fusco, six featurettes (”The Kung Fu Dream Team,” “Dangerous Beauty,” “Discovering China,” “Filming in Chinawood,” “Monkey King and the Eight Immortals,” “Previsualization”), deleted scenes, blooper reel, and a Digital Copy on a separate disc.

Rudy (Sony)

• Sony Pictures will be bringing 1993 football favorite Rudy to Blu-ray this September 9th. It has previously been released as a special-edition DVD and we should see some of those extras here, although none have officially been announced yet.

• Audio: Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround tracks in English, French and Portuguese.
• Extras: TBA
• Release date: September 9, 2008

Jerry Maguire (Sony)

• Sony Pictures they will be bringing 1996’s, Tom Cruise and Renee Zellweger blockbuster, Jerry Maguire, to Blu-ray September 9th.  Sony has yet to formally announce the release so no tech specs or supplemental information is available yet.
