Afro Samurai: Season One (FUNimation)

Previously announced for release in Japan, FUNimation will be bringing Samuel A. Jackson’s-voiced Afro Samurai:Season One to Blu-ray on August 26th here in the US. Video: Five episodes in 1080p video. Audio: Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Extras: Two featurettes (”In the Booth: Voice Talent of Afro Samurai,” “RZA Music Production Tour”), a set of character profiles, and promo spots for Afro Samurai. Release date: August 26, 2008 MSRP: $29.98

Night Watch & Day Watch (Fox)

The “Russian Matrix” films, Night Watch and Day Watch are making their way to Blu-ray on September 9, courtesy of Fox. These two movies have had great box office success in their native country and have achieved cult status here in the states. No tech specs or supplemental details have been announced yet. Release date: September 9, 2008 MSRP: $39.98 each
